Can you use packets of instant oatmeal to make cookies?
Cookies are relatively forgiving as far as baking goes, so you can probably experiment pretty successfully with using packaged oatmeal. The big difference is that when you use the packages as opposed to plain-out-of-the-canister, is that the packages are full of sugar and salt. You might want to adjust the amount of salt and sugar called for in your recipies when you use the packs, although there might not be enough in the packets to even make a difference. Like I said, you will probably be okay experimenting until you get it right. The worst that could happen is you get some pretty good cookies for a while until you get some great ones.
