Can you use energy light bulbs in outside motion lights?
There are lots of LED replacement bulbs being sold these days, and they generally run cooler than other types of bulbs. The socket you are probably looking for is the Edison or E27 socket. The first link I’ve included is a page that provides some info on the bulb options you have, and the second link is an amazon.com search for LED bulbs. Be careful though, lots of the lower priced light bulbs are quite dim and produce a blueish light that some people don’t like. If you want a warmer colored light, get one with a lower color temperature. There are bulbs for table lamps, but LEDs inherently produce directional light so they are most effective as spot or floodlights. LED bulbs are great for the motion detector lights because CFL life spans degrade very quickly if they are turned on and off a lot. They usually need to be kept on for 15 minutes to achieve their rated life span. I’ve included a third link that shows some desk lamps that were specifically designed around LED bulbs. Great to
