Yes, you can train to be an auto mechanic with no knowledge or experience. I married a man who did know how to drive and where to put gas in, but knew nothing else. Eventually he became such a good mechanic that he was the only mechanic who didn’t work for the Rolls Royce company who was allowed to work on any of their cars (and he could also work on any other type or make of car just as well as he did the Rolls).
