Can you tell us the reason for setting up a bio-fertiliser plant?
Yeat: The bio-fertiliser industry contributes a lot to the environment and mankind. From the history of fertiliser application, chemical fertilisers have been the only source over the past 100 years. However, since chemical fertilisers originated from mines, they are a limited resource like petroleum, and can lead to the plight of an exhausted natural resource. In recent years, chemical fertiliser prices have also risen drastically, resulting in increased agricultural costs. Moreover, the over application of chemical fertilisers will lead to soil acidification, salinisation and hardening. This will bring about many environmental problems. As such, developed countries have been putting a lot of efforts into studying and developing bio-fertilisers over the past two decades to come up with a substitute for chemical fertilisers.
