Can you tell us a little about Hollywood, Je T’aime, what can we expect?
Hollywood, Je T’aime is a film about a French homosexual in LA on a quest for love and attention. It’s kind of a satire on Hollywood, but it’s also about sex, love and Christmas. It’s your first film as director and writer. What was it like to be so intricately involved? Actually, I wrote and directed a short film in 2007 called Serene Hunter, so that helped prepare me. But of course with feature-length films there’s just a lot more to do and it takes a lot longer. But I love being both the writer and the director because my vision stays intact from start to finish. So did your writer head ever disagree with your director one? When you write something, it’s all about potentiality – the sky’s the limit. But when you’re directing, especially with a limited budget like we had on this film, many compromises have to be made.
