Can you tell me which political parties (USA and UK) most closely share my views?
In the UK all the parties have agreed to ring-fence the international aid budget from cuts and are committed to 0.7% of GDP being sent to developing countries. In terms of your welfare views the Conservative party share your reluctance for people to become dependent on benefits. Free education to high school level is a generally accepted principle here in the UK, the big question now is whether state schools (as we call them) should be run and funded entirely by the government, or by private firms who will make money by selling in their own services such as cleaning etc. The Conservative party are in favour of more of those arrangements. Finally when it comes to tax I don’t think any party over here shares your views entirely, although again the Conservatives tend to give more tax breaks to the rich.
