Elizabeth I (7 September 1533 – 24 March 1603) was Queen of England and Queen of Ireland from 17 November 1558 until her death in 24 March, 1603 at the age of 70. Elizabeth was the fifth and last monarch of the Tudor dynasty. Since Elizabeth died childless, she named her Scottish nephew King James IV of Scotland to be her successor, thus the end of the Tudor Dynasty and the beginning of the Stuart rule.
