Can you tell if you have any type of liver problem through a blood test? Like fatty liver?
No lab test is 100% accurate. If the doctor believes there is a problem, he would do the blood testing again just to be sure. Depending on what he see, he may do another one right away or wait a few months. Blood tests can show if there is a problem with the liver, also a medical examination would also give a clue as well as your medical history. The blood test shows the results of the ALT, AST, and Alk Phos levels…which would indicate if there was damage to the liver cells. The Bilirubin, INR, and Albumin results would show how the liver is functioning. You said the doctor was checking the abdomen.
