Can you talk about Jon Bon Jovis influence on jumpstarting and discovering the band?
We’d been playing around in Philly at a couple clubs that were the only clubs to allow original music to be played. We’d play a night or two a week and just go out and play our stuff. We’d all been in cover bands. Jon came over. He was in Philly recording 7800 Degrees Fahrenheit, their second record, and he came around the Empire Rock Club. We knew who he was because “Runaway” had been a big hit, and he was familiar with who we were. A couple days later, our manager said that Jon went back to Polygram, his label, and put in a good word for us. His manager came out as well, but he wasn’t convinced much early on. But certainly Jon helped get him to come around and got things rolling for us. I still have the Headbanger’s Ball episode on tape where you delivered a pizza to Jon, Richie Sambora and Dave Bryan in the studio and called them the Anchovy band. Yeah, I remember that (laughs).
