Can you take snowboard and skis on the buses from Krakow to Zakopane?

Don’t have the answer to your question, but I do want to put in a plug for Zakopane. I was in Krakow from May to Sept. 2007 and took a one day excursion on a commercial bus to Zakopane. Being that it was summer, generally speaking, there was no skiing go on, so there was no ski equipment attached to the bus. Once we arrived in Zakopane, on my walk around the town, I did see some ski jumping going on in one area. Not sure if it was amateurs or professionals practicing, and not sure if it was manmade snow or something else manmade that allowed the ski jumpers to glide and jump. Zakopane is a very pretty area naturally with a vast forest, and the town is also enjoyable to walk around. Since I was there only for a day didn’t spend too much, but they say it’s getting costlier…so you might want to research about affordability for lodging and food while there. Enjoy yourself.
