Most will continue the chase until he is caught. If cars could just speed away, and not get chased, everyone would do it. So, to get back to your car, the subject who was being chased caused the police to follow him. Any damage that was done, was done because HE started the chase. The chase started in thier jurisdiction, and continued into another, this is not uncommon. Due to the fact they were in pursuit, jusristical lines do not hav to be upheld.
