Can you successfully stain good quality cherry wood?

0

Most solid cherry furniture is all ready stained. They do that because unless you are very careful in selecting your wood for each piece of furniture it will not all match. To make it match, they stain all of it the same color. This also makes all of the furniture in a set the same color. That is much cheaper than trying to match wood colors between each piece of cherry. If you have real solid cherry wood and it is stained, you will never be able to get the stain out of the wood because it is absorbed into the pores or grain of the wood. You can remove the varnish and then stain it a darker color but never a lighter color. There is really nothing wrong with mixing and matching wood colors in a room.
