Can you store chili pepper seeds from plants & grow next year from them?
I will also assume you mean the seeds from your plants and not extra from the packet. All you need to do is dry them and store in a dry place. Do not store them in the freezer. Peppers do not require a chill to germinate. They are native to sub tropical regions. As already mentioned hybrids will not breed true to the parent plants. You have hybrids. That is what the F1 means. First generation hybrid. The parent plants used to breed them were both open pollinated. That is not the variety. That is no reason not to grow them. Just know that you will not necessarily get the same kind of peppers. I have grown plants from the offspring of hybrids. It is actually kind of fun to see what you get. If you do mean leftover seed just leave them in the packet. Germination may not be as good the next year but you should still get decent results. I have grown tomatoes and peppers from 3 yr. old seed. Edit: My first sentence was silly, you said from the plants. Edit again: I disagree with Hondu ( Hi,
