Can you save a game on the PS3 console and then play the game without using the disc?
That’s a qualified el-negatorio. You can’t save any ps3 blu-ray onto hard drive, no way, no how. You can save PSN games onto hard drive, but that’s trivial, you’re supposed to. The one thing a lot of people don’t know is you can install some ps2 games onto your ps3 hard drive, if it is ps2 compatible. Why did they do this? I have no clue why but I have SOCOM 2 installed on my ps3’s hard drive. There is a complete list on the Wikipedia of all the ps2 games that can be installed to hard drive on a ps3. This is not a hack by the way, it’s an officially supported feature. In response to the response to the first answer, “homebrew” suggests somebody has come up with a custom ps3 firmware, which will never, ever happen. Nobody has cracked the hypervisor. It is possible that people have come up with clever tricks to get .iso loaders to work, but that’s not real “homebrew” and isn’t a practical hack cause you can’t get away with it.
