Ametek’s probes have a stainless steel chamber through which the sample is drawn to a short sensor. This design dates back to the early 1980s when the only long probes available had long zirconia tubes which were expensive and fragile. It was a compromise to have an oxygen probe design which used only a short zirconia tube. Teledyne’s long tube probes require no design compromise.
