Can you pls tell me how to get rid of carpenter ants from the bathroom?
Answer Hi Colleen, My apology for the delay, but things can get quite hectic. Carpenter ants are generally associated with moisture and leaks, and my first suggestion is to find any leaks or damp structural wood and correct the problem. Carpenter ants smell the mold fungus that develops in dampness, and it’s their signal that they will find a nice moist location in which to nest, and that includes boring into wood and hollowing it out to make a nest, sometimes totally destroying the wood in the process. I would investigate the possibility of plumbing leaks around all pipes and pipe joints, drain lines, radiator valves, etc., and around window frames, flashing, or even something as simple as clogged weep holes at the bottom of storm sash frames where they meet the window sill. If there are any places where paint is peeling, wood is discolored or soft, or puddling of water, they can be attracted to those locations. Even clogged rain gutters or deteriorated roofing can cause hidden leaks
