Do you mean BROMINE TEST shake hydrocarbon with a little bromine water. If it immediately decolourizes, the hydrocarbon is unsaturated I’m not aware of a nitration TEST but you can nitrate hydrocarbons with aromatic rings [benzene rings] using a mixture of conc H2SO4 and conc HNO3 The usual OXIDATION TEST in organic chem is to shake with dilute acidified potassium permanaganate solution and see if it turns from mauve to colourless.
