Can you please advise if the 50 mL bioreactors from TPP can be used in the screening of micro carrier systems?
We are not aware of any situation where microcarriers should not be used with the TPP bioreactor. Rather, we strongly believe they can be used. The cells adhere to the carriers and the product is in the liquid. Obviously the cells cannot then be harvested from the carriers. A microcarrier culture should be regarded as a suspension cell culture. The advice we give is to adjust the shaking freuquency.
