Can you play Gamecube games on the Wii?
Yes. Both Wii games and GameCube games come as discs, so despite the GameCube discs being smaller, they can still be inserted and played the same way a Wii game would. Once you put in the disc, the game channel on your home menu will recognize that a GameCube game has been entered (though not which one) and you can click on that with your Wiimote to start playing. After that, everything will need to be done with a GameCube controller. You will not be able to get back to the Wii menu unless you restart your system. You can plug in up to four GameCube controllers at a time, just like with a GameCube console. You’ll need a memory card for the GameCube, and the slot for that is right behind the controller slots. If you have an internet connection, you can also go to the Wii Shopping Channel and purchase games from the old school Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64, and a few other older consoles such as Sega. They range from $5-10.
