Yes. We have had a number of women who have sung in the Spelman College Glee Club while majoring in the sciences. 8. Does the Spelman College Glee Club require a lot of time? The glee club requires much dedication from all its members. Rehearsals may sometimes exceed the usual allotted time. Extra rehearsals may be called when there are additional performances. Although being a member of the glee club can be time consuming, glee club members are usually involved in other organizations. 9. Is the glee club considered a class? How do I get graded? Yes. Glee club can be taken as a one-credit class per semester. Members are graded by punctuality, attendance and participation in rehearsals and performances. 10. Do I have to be able to read music to be in the glee club? No. Members of the glee club develop the skill of reading music during their tenure in the organization. 11.
