Can you mail checks to a bank for depoit?

Sure you can. Just take some deposit slips with you and mail ’em in. But: The mail is not infallible and neither is the person at the bank who opens the mail. Keep copies and send your deposit certified mail and have the delivery receipt sent to your home just in case the deposit gets lost in the mail. Check as soon as you can to make sure that the deposit was properly entered in your account. It would be a good idea to confirm with the bank as to the exact mailing address for deposits. Sent to the wrong branch or department and the chances of an error increase. Bear in mind that mail isn’t instantaneous. Here are some tips: make sure you mail your deposit to your specific branch (usually the one where you opened the account) and not any branch from that bank. Also, the bank should mail you back your deposit receipt (to your address listed on the account), they always did for me.

They have been great and I never have had a problem mailing a check to them for deposit into my account. When I moved away from that city, I called them and explained the situation and they mailed me address stickers to put on my envelopes as well as a stack of deposit slips and told me to call them when I run low on my supplies. They send me a receipt if I indicate I want one when I mail in my check. Many people say mailing a check is not safe but think about companies that mail their employees their paychecks or if you get a refund check from a business, etc. and there’s usually not a problem. My suggestion: call your bank directly and ask them their opinion since they deal with these kinds of i
