Can you keep a anglefish and a fighter fish together in the same tank?
I wouldn’t chance it. A Betta is a highly aggressive fish, Angels are somewhat aggressive and should be kept with fish the same size as they are or they’ll attack the smaller fish. Betta’s unfortunately are very territorial and do not care to share space with any other fish – especially one that might be considered “prettier” than they are. An Angelfish has long fins and your Betta will more than likely bite away at those. Although some Bettas have been known to be somewhat submissive and will share a tank with “plain” looking fish (zebra danios have survived in a tank with a Betta). The best way to “test” out the aggressiveness of your fish is to get a divider for your tank and keep the fish separated for a few days. Watch them closely and if the Angelfish doesn’t “charge” at the divider and the Betta doesn’t puff up when the Angelfish gets close, then you can remove the divider, but continue watching closely for a few more days and return the divider if they show signs of aggression.
No way! Both are very aggressive and territorial. Chinese fighting fish can’t be with anything with big fins or that are larger than them. I’m not sure what else you could put with Angelfish. I’ve never seen them with anything but other Angelfish. Barbs would probably be okay with them as long as the tank if really big and you have more Barbs than Angelfish.
