Can you insulate washing machine pipes to prevent freezing in an unheated garage?
You can use heat tape to keep the water intake lines from freezing. But that won’t prevent the interior components of the washer from freezing, such as the motor or water pump that causes draining. If the water pump and motor freeze, the washer won’t work and may suffer permanent damage, for example, if the water in the pump melts and then refreezes, causing it to crack. You can use a space heater in the garage to keep the temperature above freezing.
