Can You Install Laminate Flooring Over Carpet Padding?
Laminate flooring is a manufactured system that gives the appearance of beautiful wood flooring at a much better cost and easier installation than solid wood. It is an engineered product that provides an uniform appearance while being able to withstand heavy use. Multiple layers of compressed wood chips are laminated together and topped with the exterior finish element that gives the wood grain an appearance of real wood flooring. Flooring boards are topped with a sealer to provide solid protection. Unfortunately, it’s not a good idea to install laminate flooring over carpet padding.
