Not sure how a cam works with MSN, but with YIM, you should just plug your cam in, your computer detect it, and then should be able to immediately send cam invites and let people view you. If you’re having issues, your firewall program is probably blocking the connection from your cam to the yahoo server. Some firewalls, over time, become overly protective and start blocking out certain internet services…sometimes they even block the net entirely to avoid all chances of getting viruses. So, to be sure it’s the firewall, try disabling it for a minute and see if the cam works. If it does, you now know it’s the firewall and need to configure it’s settings. If it’s not the firewall, then make sure the cam is being detected by the computer and usable. You could have a faulty cam.
