Can you give us a brief talent assessment of the two new quarterbacks, Jare Gault and Mike McDonald?
Jare (Boiling Springs, S.C.) is the prototypical quarterback as far as size and strength. He is very athletic, he has a strong arm, he can make all the throws necessary in our offense. What he needs to do a better job of is slowing the game down mentally. And we hope that will come with the more repetitions that he has. It is a fast game out there. Things are happening fast for him. He needs to slow that down. He has the ability that he can do it. He needs to develop the mindset. Mike McDonald (Burbank, Calif.), for his size, is a fairly athletic kid as well. He, likewise, with these new guys, they need to have a better understanding of what we are trying to do and what we are trying to accomplish. Both of those kids, once they do have that understanding of what we want done, then you can get a truer evaluation of their physical skills.
