Can you give me three aquatic plants with its special adeptive features?
There are kinds of aquatic plants are totally submerged ones, floating plants and marsh plants. Totally submerged Their transpiration rate is different from terrestrial plants to help maintain their water balance. They are supported by the water and so go easy on the strengthening tissues. They also lack protective tissue that help land plants prevent water loss. Their stems contain air filled pockets for bouyancy and serve as storage. Their leaves are highly serrated to get maximum surface area. Floating plants There are two kinds – those rooted to the ground with leaves floating on the surface and those that float without being rooted to the ground. They have green leaves with chlorophyll and stomata on the upper surface. If water drops on these leaves, the drops roll around and drops off as if on oil paper because there is a coating on these leaves to keep the stomata functional.
