Can you give me the names to kings who died mysteriously and if the mystery was ever solved?
One story that has particularly interested me is the story of the supposed murder of King Edward II of England in 1327. The story goes that he was imprisoned on the orders of his wife’s lover – Roger Mortimer – and was murdered there in a particularly gruesome way – I’ll let you look that one up yourself ; ) But recently a new theory has come to light which suggests that Edward wasn’t murdered but he escaped and spent six months or so in Ireland before moving on through France and Italy where he died many years later of natural causes. There’s no absolutely definitive evidence for this theory though the books I have read do offer a very convincing argument for this alternative theory. So basically, I think this is one mystery that will never really be solved.
