Can you get salmonella bacteria from a turtle by grabbing it from the shell?
Yes you can. If the turtle has salmonella (and they’ve found that many pet turtles do), you can get it from touching any part of the turtle then getting the bacteria in your mouth. Be sure you are washing your hands very well (wash with soap and sing Happy Birthday while you scrub every surface of your hands and nails) after touching the turtle.
