Can you get into Quantum Computing with a degree in Computer Science?

At my school we just had a seminar in quantum computing. There are many avenues into it. If you were getting into quantum computing from a C.S. angle that would involve designing algorithms that could be ran on a quantum computer. That is a very different Proposition than running on a traditional binary machine. If you mean designing a quantum computer, computer engineering doesn’t cut it. Try high level particle physics, they work on Bose Einstein principles. Very complicated Research, not to take anything away from the complexity in the Algorithms. Basically to work on hardware think physics or nuclear engineering. To work on Software think C.S. However you should know the research being done is all at Post doc and Doctoral candidate level (outside of the technician style research).
