Can you get drunk off ice wine?
Ice wine is a type of dessert wine produced from grapes that have been frozen while still on the vine. The sugars and other dissolved solids do not freeze, but the water does, allowing a more concentrated grape. It results in a very very sweet tasting wine. It usually has a slightly lower alcohol content than regular table wine, anywhere from 6% to 13% alcohol content. Just to give you a reference the alcohol content in beer is usually 4% – 8% by volume. That being said, it is still wine and it is still an alcoholic beverage, and you can still get drunk on it! How much it will take to get you drunk depends on many different factors, just like with any alcohol, including: How often you drink Whether you have eaten Body weight Medications Altitude Don’t fall under the false sense of security that if you drink ice wine you won’t get as drunk. Hope this helps!
