Can you explain how we see objects, including giving a simple explanation of how the eye works?

We see objects as an image imprinted in the retina of our eye. It is carried by the light that enters the eye. Our eye is provided with a lens just like that of a camera. And the retina is like the photograhic film, at the backside of the eye, facing the lens. When the image is flashed, the sensory nerves pick up the message and flash signals to the brain for it to interpret. If say the image is of a face, the brain will scan its memory banks for the name of that face, and once confirmed, it will send signals to the muscles to lift the arm and the lips to smile and the vocal chords to say “Hi”.
