Can you explain how tiering works for Controlled Assessment and the examinations?

0

Controlled assessment is not tiered, all work is marked using the assessment grids provided in the specification. The examination papers for both units are available at both Foundation and Higher tier. Attainment in a unit entered at Foundation tier is capped at a top C (B -1 mark). It is entirely up to a centre what tier of entry is chosen for a candidate in each of the examined units.
