Can you claim sure start grant on family tax credits?
Iv just had mine, i dont work, but my husband does so we get both child and working tax credits. the form says ur child element of the child tax credits has to be more than ur family element, so your child element of the child tax credits has to be more than £548. So for example your family element of tax credits is £548 for the yr, and the child element for 2 qualifing children (if u have 2 children say) should be aprox £4000, so there u can safely say child element is higher than family element therefore u will get a materity grant.
