Can you buy clear lensed glasses in opticians…?

You can do this, but legally the optician has to test your eyes first, to see if you have a prescription, even if it is very small. However, if you do have a prescription and you do not wish to have the prescription put into the glasses, then you will probably have to sign a disclaimer saying you hae requested non-prescription lenses. Reason being, if you are wearing the glasses and you are involved in an accident that could have been prevented had the lenses been prescription, the optician would be liable unless they could show you had told them not to give the prescription.
