Can you apply a knockdown texture to paneling?

Im getting ready to do just this, I have lightly sanded the paneling so far with 2 coats of primer. (Kiltz) I will be shooting it this weekend. I have read several articles about doing this. I think it will work fine. I also mudded all seams and holes. Good Luck!
