Yes, an external hardrive can be attached to the Arcade system. I have the 20GB, but I recommend going bigger if you intend to download demos, movies, and things of that nature. There is also the chance you may have to backup a game, as I did with my damaged GTA IV disc which takes up about 7 GB. There are also add-ons to games that take up a lot of space.

Yes you can. My xbox 360 is a ‘core’ system (exactly the same as the arcade version just without the games) and I brought a hard drive for it. It works just the same as the 360 that you can buy with the hard drive. There are two different size hard drives 20gb and 120gb. I have the 20gb as the only need for the 120gb is if you have xbox live (which I do) and you want to download films through the market place (which I don’t). As it stands the 20gb hard drive is defiantly bigger enough for all other needs!
