can you accurately measure dry ingredients in a liquid measuring cup?
That said, my mother, who is a fantastic cook does it. She just puts flour into a glass measuring cup and shakes it a little and adds/removes some as needed. I am somewhat of a perfectionist and I cringe when I see her do it that way. You should do it the correct way. For dry ingredients you spoon the ingredient into the cup and level it off with the flat side of a knife or spatula. Do not pack the ingredient into the cup unless it is brown sugar you are measuring. Even when using a measuring spoon, this is the correct way to do it. Sometimes to save time cleaning so many utensils when I’m done cooking, I will use a measuring cup that I used for dry measuring to measure liquids. It is very hard to get the cup to the bowl without spilling any, so that is really not very accurate and I wouldn’t recommend it. *Do as I say, not what I do!* For liquids you should actually set the cup down on a table and get down eye level to lines on the measuring cut to see if the liquid lines up to the me
