Can Year-Round Schooling Help Students Excel?

MILES O’BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: Improving the nation’s schools, a major focus of the Bush administration and Congress this session, some suggesting that year-round schooling can help students excel, not everyone agreeing, however. This morning we are joined by two activists on both sides of this debate. Charlotte Lampe is a parent who opposes year-round education. She is president of Focused Families Organized for Our Children’s Unified School Year. She joins us from Houston, Texas. And here in Atlanta we’re joined by principal Robert Haeberlin.
