— (Sports Network) – Journeyman Jamey Wright aims to become one of the more improbable three-game winners of the young 2006 major league season when the San Francisco Giants visit Chase Field tonight for the finale of a four-game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Wright, a 31-year-old righthander who’s gone 63-88 over 228 big-league appearances, is already 2-0 this year after stringing together consecutive impressive starts against Atlanta (April 8) and Los Angeles (April 14). Combined, Wright has thrown 15 innings and allowed just 10 hits and five runs. Last season, in the second year of a second stint with the Colorado Rockies, Wright was 8-16 with a 5.46 earned run average in 34 appearances (27 starts). His best major league season came in 2001, when as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers Wright was 11-12 with a 4.90 ERA in 33 starts. He is 3-4 with a 5.47 ERA in 10 career appearances against Arizona.
