Can work be done on a document in FileHold document management software while it is checked out?

For the purpose of tight version control if a document is checked out of FileHold other users can not modify that document until it is checked back in. When a document is checked out FileHold displays who has checked it out and when it ws checked out. A user may make a copy of a checked out document.
