Can WordPress Be Used To Create A Static Site?
The use of WordPress to create affiliate marketing sites has exploded in recent years. Of course, it has always been heavily used for blogging, whether for personal or business reasons. I get asked a lot, though, whether it can be used to create a static site–for instance, so a real-world business can have an Internet presence. Or in some cases, affiliate marketers want to harness the power of WordPress but for whatever reason don’t want their affiliate site to look like a blog. The answer is, Yes, it can definitely be used to create a static site. In fact, I’ve seen sites that I would swear up and down were not created in WordPress, but sure enough, they were. The easiest and most obvious way to do this is to use WordPress “pages” rather than “posts.” Pages are static, but posts flow from one page to the next as you add more posts.
