Women enrolled in Medicaid, CHIP or Medicare Parts A or B are not eligible for the Medicaid Women’s Health Program. A woman who has private health insurance is not eligible for the Medicaid Women’s Health Program unless (1) her private coverage does not cover family planning services, or (2) filing a claim on her health insurance would cause physical, emotional, or other harm from her spouse, parents or other person. What does having “private health insurance that covers family planning mean”?
