Can Wichita Police Officers enforce divorce, child custody, evictions, or settle other civil disputes?
A. No. WPD officers can only enforce violations of criminal law that may occur in these incidents, or enforce “EX PARTE” orders issued by judges in civil matters. If the decree does not include specific instructions for any law enforcement officer to enforce the order, we can not participate.
