Can Weimaraners be “outside only” dogs?
No! Weimaraners are very devoted to their humans and want to live indoors and be part of the family. Weimaraners that are left outdoors full time are very likely to be destructive, dig, bark all day, climb/jump the fence, and find many other ways to show how unhappy they are at being left outside. Living outside causes many health problems and will shorten the life of most dogs. Many problems that families experience with Weimaraners can be eliminated by bringing the dog indoors and crate training the dog, so it can be indoors when the family is not home.
