Can weight loss ease PCOS symptoms?
Hi, Yes, theoretically it can. If you have PCOS and are overweight, it might be beneficial to engage in both a diet and exercise plan. It probably won’t “cure” you, but it can help with your insulin levels and hormone production/regulation to bring back regular periods and help with other uncomfortable symptoms. Again though–it’s always best to diet healthily and to combine this with some form of exercise (as long as you’re healthy enough to exercise). If you want to start a regimen, it would probably be good to write it all out first–start small and try cutting out only a few foods at a time. Factor in daily exercise (walking the dog or taking a walk every evening while dinner is cooking is a good place to start) and steadily increase over time. Good luck to you! Weight loss with PCOS can be difficult, but weight gain only adds to the problem.
