Web sites can only read what is written in the cookies that the specific web site has written. A web site can read nothing more than what the web site has requested the browser to write to a cookie. Your spreadsheets, documents, and so on cannot be read by a web site. Because a web site provides the data to be written to cookies, they can only get information from you that you have entered voluntarily into the web site already. This is with the exception of values that your browser automatically provides to a web site. The browser will send a web site information about your computer, your browser, and your navigation through the Internet. This is the way a browser works. It has nothing to do with cookies.
