Can we use skype for free with a 3 mobile sim card on an ordinary unlocked phone?
Unfortunately, this is not possible at present. While it’s true that you can use a 3 sim in any unlocked 3g capable handset, to use most of 3’s services, Skype is a totally different thing. You can only use the 3 Skype services on an original 3 handset. This is due to the security certificates installed into 3 handsets. My understanding is that 3 are looking into the possibility of using handsets from other networks for Skype, but this is not possible at present, sorry.
