Can we use SICA funds to cover administration, staffing or rent expenses?
Yes, so long as those expenses directly support the implementation of science-based (at least 50% of all SICA funds) and promising substance abuse prevention strategies. Remember, however, that demonstrating your ability to sustain your initiative’s outcomes after the SICA funding period is over will be an important consideration in the review and scoring of your application. If you are proposing to fund staff and other key expenses through grant funds, and those expenses are likely to need to be continued after the grant period in order to sustain your outcomes, you will be required to provide significant documentation of your ability to secure the needed resources on a sustained basis into the future.
