Can’t see why not if you are talking about the comprehensive cover on the scrapped car giving third party only cover for driving someone else’s car (not owned by you). The insurers could use it as a get out clause though if you do not tell them – they will try anything they can not to pay. In theory they should be pleased as they are not currently providing cover for the scrapped car even though they have the premiums.
